SMPS Central Florida 09/10 Member of the Year Nomination
Do you know someone who should be recognized as this year's SMPS Central Florida Chapter Member of the Year?
Please take this opportunity to vote on one of two outstanding nominees for the 2009/2010 SMPS Central Florida Chapter Member of the Year. Each individual was nominated by their peers and is voted on by the entire SMPS membership for this pretigious award. The Member of the Year Award is presented to the person that has done the most to represent the Chapter of SMPS, promote or provide programs to the membership, been there for the membership, and lived up to our Chapter Mission and Vision.
All ballots must be received no later than Friday, July 30, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Background of Each Nominee:
Larry Seel - Since Larry has come back on the board, he has contributed his time and talents to advance the educational and networking opportunities for the chapter. He initiated the concept of having a monthly networking event that is now under the membership committee; he has recruited and managed volunteers tasked with conducting study sessions to increase the number of members achieving CPSM certification; he instrumental in bringing in national-level speakers for Marketing Mayhem events with little or no cost to the chapter; and, he has continued to support the UCF Student Chapter by sponsoring and attending their scholarship event. Larry has always participated at board meetings and given his opinion and ideas freely with the sole purpose of improving our chapter. He has embraced the mission and actively assisted in moving the chapter toward its many goals. He is always willing to assist other board members and serve as a mentor to younger members.
Laurie Orlando - Laurie has been a shining star committed to the SMPS Central Florida Chapter. She has held many roles in the chapter and is an advocate in the community. Laurie rarely misses an SMPS Mix, Market and Mingle event and her fresh perspective is always welcome among others who may be attending events for the first time. She makes them feel at home, often going out of her way to say hello and welcome new members in the community. Although Laurie's contributions often happen under the radar of winning awards, writing press releases, etc., it is people like Laurie that assist our chapter in growth, reputation and integrity in the community. We need more people like Laurie Orlando in the chapter.
