SMPS Education Program - June 17
Florida’s Governor and Legislature are pushing tax reform and it is resulting in an enormous strain on local school board budgets, as well as the budgets at the junior college and university levels. What does this mean for the AEC industry? Will it slow down the capital spending for new facilities and renovations, and for how long? How are the agencies handling the budget slashing in Tallahassee and do they foresee any longterm solutions?
At SMPS’s june’s program, attendees got to hear it from the front lines. Representatives at the local and state levels joined us to provide up-to-date information regarding the impact tax reform has dealt them. Our panel members included:
Lisa Cook - Deputy Director Facilities Planning & Budgeting, Office of Financial Policy Division of Community Colleges - Department of Education
Chris Kinsley, CPA -Director, Finance & Facilities board of Governors
